HANDSTAND TIPS

Samantha (my 9-year-old gymnast) has been trying to help me with handstands, I asked her to give me “tips” I could pass on…

– Keep your head in (neutral)
– Squeeze your butt and point your toes
– Keep your legs together and straight
– Hold your core tight
– Do not arch your back
– Lock your arms (shoulders and elbows)
– Keep your arms close to your ears

When walking on your hands it is okay to look down at your hands but you can also keep your head straight (neutral).

Hopefully, these tips help you a little bit. I just had some of my longest holds by trying her advice (still very short hs holds but long duration for me)!
